ANOTHER ANNOUNCEMENT, BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE KIND PEOPLE AT PHANTOM NOTE PRODUCTIONS!
In addition to the LGBT night in our aforementioned post, every second Sunday of the month, we will be holding an event at Quencher’s called “Almost Unemployed”.
WHAT IS THAT, YOU ASK? Well, you conveniently came to the right place. Probably the only place, if I think about it. Regardless, here is the lowdown on that…:
If you are on Tumblr, the likelihood of you being young, poor, and at least somewhat interested in shows is pretty high (not trying to stereotype all y’all, but c’mon…cut me some slack on this one). What we’re trying to do is bring together bands, promoters, record store folk, and everyone in between in the same room, drinkin’ a few brews and talking about the industry.
BASICALLY, this is a mixer for music geeks. We’ll be handing out those funny “Hello, My Name Is” stickers so everyone knows what you do, and after that we’ll begin the fun!
Jeff Molek of the Windish Agency (IT’S A LINK, CLICK IT!), one of Chicago’s biggest booking agencies, will be doing a DJ set there as well…I’m also sure he’d have some wisdom to pass on to you, so come down, grab a drink ($2 PBRs, $1 Malort shots, and $1 off all bourbons are the deals for the night) and chat with some of the people that make Chicago’s music scene as thriving as it is.-
